MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) – Lincoln County officials will be offering free health screenings next month for incoming 4k students in the Merrill School District.
Health officer Nichole Peplinski says the checkups will be a full physical of your child including a vision and hearing check up. "We want to make sure they can see well and hear well. If those barriers are there, there's going to be barriers to their learning."
The checkups will also include free immunizations if you qualify for the help. Peplinski says all children entering school need to have those immunizations. "There are requirements for those. You can find them on the website or you can call the health department as well."
The exam day will run on August 13 from 1pm to 5:30 pm at the Health Department on Sales Street in Merrill. Appointments are necessary. You should allow one hour for the examination. Call 715-536-0307 to sign up or get more information.
