WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- One of the Wausau area’s favorite fundraising events is almost sold out. Wine, Cheese, & All That Jazz 2014 is coming up this Saturday at the Patriot Center in Rothschild. It is the big fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club.
Kim Larsen from the Boys and Girls Club says if you want to go, you better call. “We have actually pulled all of our tickets from all of our retail locations and all of our generous supporters. If people want to purchase tickets, they can call the club and talk with us here to find out if we have tickets left. We don’t want to oversell those tickets and promise people something that may not come true.”
As of Monday night, only 19 tickets remain available, and Larsen expects they will go quickly.
This year's event will feature the John Greiner Jazz Quartet, String Cheese, and over 100 different kinds of wine from around the world. There’s also specialty cheeses, microbrew beer, and fabulous food & desserts.
The Boys and Girls Club has collected several donations for the silent auction, and Larsen says they are all available to see online. “We hope that people are checking out our Facebook page to see our silent auction items that we are posting throughout all last week and this week. There will be a new item every couple of hours.”
Wine, Cheese, & All That Jazz is Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30. Larsen is hoping the event sets several records. They are hoping to raise $110,000 to support their three Boys and Girls Club locations.
