
JUNCTION CITY, Wis. (WSAU) -- An elderly Mosinee area couple is hospitalized after a traffic crash Wednesday afternoon north of Junction City. Portage County deputies say the crash happened at 1:57 p.m. about 150 feet south of “Hog Corner”, where Highways H, O, and G intersect.
The man was driving southbound when he struck the rear of a legally-parked septic tank service truck. He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield by Portage County Ambulance. She was flown by Theda Star helicopter to St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries after being extracated from the wreckage.
The names haven’t been released, but both the husband and wife are 86-years-old and live close to the Eau Plaine flowage south of Mosinee.
The driver of the service truck was not injured.
Portage County Sheriff’s deputies are continuing to investigate the crash.
The Rudolph Fire Department, Portage County Ambulance, Rudolph Emergency Medical Responders, Theda Star Air Ambulance, and Dave's Towing assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
