WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU-Wheeler News Service) -- A Wausau murder suspect is having his case delayed, after two doctors could not determine if he's mentally able to stand trial.
Marathon County Circuit Judge Mike Moran has ordered that 27-year-old Kou Thao be taken to a mental institution for more evaluation. Another competency review hearing has been set for March 10th.
Thao is charged with homicide, hiding a corpse, and illegal firearm possession in the death last spring of 58-year-old Tong Pao Hang of Saint Paul Minnesota. Prosecutors said Thao shot the victim between the eyes, and cut his head off. Hang was reported missing last April. His body was found just over a week later in Milwaukee.
