WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- One of two people accused of supplying the heroin responsible for a man’s death will go on trial this fall.

31-year-old Lucas Zuehlke is accused of providing the heroin that killed 30-year-old Thomas Knickerbocker on March 11th of 2013. Police reports say Zuehlke sold $100 dollars worth of the drug to Knickerbocker’s girlfriend, 34-year-old Nycole Creed. Creed gave the drug to Knickerbocker. Knickerbocker was discovered on the floor dead by his young daughter.

Zuehlke’s trial starts September 2nd in Marathon County Circuit Court. He’s charged with first-degree reckless homicide, maintaining a drug trafficking place, delivering heroin, and possession of narcotic drugs.

Zuehlke had a previous heroin conviction, and violated probation for selling the drug again. If convicted this time, he could be in prison more than 72 years. He’s currently in the Marathon County Jail unable to post a $100,000 cash bond.

Creed is also facing charges, but her trial date has not been set.
