PORT EDWARDS, Wis. (WSAU) -- An early morning crash near Port Edwards has left one person hospitalized.
Wood County Sheriff’s investigators say 27-year-old Justin Mike of Wisconsin Rapids failed to negotiate the curve at Highway 54 and Highway D at about 3:10 a.m. Monday. The vehicle rolled over and landed on its side.
22-year-old Danielle Robinson of Wisconsin Rapids was flown from the scene by medical helicopter. Investigators have not released which hospital she is at, or her present condition.
Mike fled the scene of the crash. Officers say excessive speed was a factor in the incident.
