ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU) - Late night travelers heading south on Interstate 39 can expect some delays tonight and tomorrow night.
Department of Transportation officials will be making several separate 30-minute closures, stopping all southbound traffic between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Road crews will be removing beams on the southbound bridge.
Southbound traffic is already using the northbound bridge, but those lanes will be needed during the closure to load the old beams on trucks to remove them.
Some closures may also be necessary on April 15. Motorists are advised to consider taking alternate routes to avoid delays. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions and construction status. Business and property owners can sign up for weekly e-mail construction updates. You can visit the I-39 southbound project Web site for more information.
