TOMAHAWK, Wis. (WSAU) -- Intentionally chasing wildlife can get you in big trouble. A Crystal Lake, Illinois man learned that lesson the hard way this past week. Lincoln County deputies investigated a complaint that a man was using his personal watercraft to chase adult and baby loons on Deer Lake north of Tomahawk.
The deputy cited the man for not having a boater’s safety certificate. The Department of Natural Resources warden also gave him a citation for harassing wildlife.
The warden says the mother loons and their babies appear to be OK.
The man’s name has not been released.
