ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) - It's once again time to get down and get funky for a good cause in Rothschild with WIFC's Disco Cures Cancer.

This year is the 17th annual event and WIFC morning show host Dave Kallaway says every year they want to help raise funds for Aspirus Cancer Care. "We're going to be giving proceeds to Aspirus. For some time now they've had a fund set up. It's set up in two blocks. One is for for future needs and the other is for immediate needs for those who are dealing with cancer. And that's why we do the dance."

Kallaway says they're happy to once again be running the dance at the Rothschild Pavillion. "The entire pavilion is all floor, it's all dance floor and it's got springs under the floor, and that's why it's such a great venue." He says the Pavilion is built for this sort of event and has a great history of great concerts in its historic past.

One of the major parts of Disco Cures Cancer is dressing up for the night. Kallaway says he wants this to be a big Halloween party for the grownups. "So people can just have fun, and do whatever they want costume wise, but most people since it is a Disco party, end up dressing like they're from the Disco era." If you're going to be scrambling today for a costume, though, Kallaway suggests checking the local thrift stores like the Salvation Army or Saint Vincent de Pauls. "A lot of them are ready for you, they know this dance is something up, so they're ready for you by featuring more disco type clothes that you'd need for this dance."

Tickets at the door tonight are 20 dollars. The party runs from 7 to Midnight.
