GREEN BAY, Wis. (WSAU) -- Green Bay Packers fans traveling to the game will again need more travel time if they want to get to Lambeau Field before kickoff.
Department of Transportation officials say several construction projects are affecting traffic in and out of Green Bay.
The DOT says drivers should strongly consider staying away from the Highway 41 and Wisconsin 172 interchange, which will definitely have long delays before and after the game.
Travel on Highway 41 will be OK, as the barrels will be moved out of the way, but expect heavy traffic.
There are some detours affecting Highway 29 travelers. Highway 29/Shawano Avenue is closed between Packerland Drive and Duck Creek Parkway, including the ramps at Packerland Drive. DOT officials say all traffic going eastbound to the game should use Highway 29 to Highway 41 southbound, and exit at Lombardi Avenue. Going home westbound on Highway 29, you can either use Highway 41 north to Highway 29 westbound, or you can use County EB/Packerland Drive northbound to Highway 54/Mason Street westbound, turning north on Highway FF to get back to Highway 29.
Travelers going to the game on Highway 172 will need to use the Oneida Street/Ashland Avenue exit to Vanderperren Way, go west to Holmgren Way, and north on Holmgren Way to Pilgrim Way. Proceed east on Pilgrim Way back to the westbound Highway 172 on ramp for Highway 41.
If you are involved in a crash in the Green Bay area, State Patrol officials advise you to call 9-1-1 immediately and, if there are no injuries, move the vehicles off the driving lanes. Report license plate numbers to dispatchers when you call. Additionally, if your vehicle becomes disabled in the US 41 work zone between De Pere and Suamico, notify authorities immediately and WisDOT will send a Freeway Service Team vehicle to your location. Motorists can then contact their motor club or towing preference after WisDOT has relocated your vehicle to a more accessible and safe location.
