AUBURNDALE, WI (WSAU) - Another threat of a bomb in a school. Auburndale Superintendent Gerald Eichman says they were alerted of a written warning this afternoon. “At approximately 2:30 p.m. today, the administration was informed of a bomb threat for noon Tuesday at the high school.”
Wood County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Shawn Becker has been at Auburndale schools for the past few hours, and says they’ve turned up no evidence of a device. “There was a threat written on one of the bathroom stall doors. Once deputies arrived, we did some searching of the school along with the Admininstrator of the school and staff as well. There was nothing found to coincide with the threat that was written on the door. We’re still looking into the matter.”
Eichman says they still take the threat seriously. “We cancelled school for Tuesday, the 23rd as a precautionary measure. We did take our staff and swept the building after school.”
The middle school and high school are part of the same building.
Deputies have interviewed some students. So far, they don’t know who wrote the threat on a middle school bathroom stall door or why. Another sweep of the school building will be performed.
