MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- An Adams county man was sentenced for sexual assault of a child Monday.
49-year-old Joey Hicks was found guilty by a jury last April of sexually assaulting a child three times, incest, repeated acts of sexual assault, and attempted first degree sexual assault of a child.
Juneau County Judge John Roemer sentenced Hicks to a total of 75 years in prison, and another 20 years on extended supervision if he ever gets out of prison. Roemer said Hicks’ record indicates he is a psychopath and is unable to comply with the law and that Hicks has “no concern for others or children.” Judge Roemer described Hicks as a narcissist who only cares about his own sexual needs.
Several of the victims testified during the trial about what Hicks did to them when they were children between 1985 and 2005.
