WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - The woman charged in the death of her boyfriend's dog has a new trial date.
A four day trial is set for July 29 for 20-year-old Sean Janas. Police say Janas poisoned and slit the throat of her boyfriend's dog in June of 2012. Police say she kept a diary of the attacks, and detailed the abuse of the dog over several months.
That trial had been set for May 1st, but Janas fired her attorney in March.
If convicted on all charges, Janas faces 5 years in prison and $30,000 in fines. She's currently in jail on a $2,500 cash bond.
