WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) -- Wisconsin Rapids has set their 2015 budget.
Wisconsin Rapids City Council unanimously approved a budget that is 1% higher than 2014, and a city tax rate that is 1.8% higher. That will mean about 355-thousand dollars more than 2014, giving them a budget just over 35-million dollars.
The state tax relief combined with state funding of technical colleges means a nearly 51% drop in the Mid-State Technical College portion of the tax bill, but the city’s increases plus Wood County and Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools nearly erase those savings.
City officials budgeted for upcoming road work, staff increases, technology, and infrastructure repairs.
