
SHAWANO, Wis. (WSAU) -- Officials in Shawano County have released the name of the man charged with a break in and high speed chase with police over the weekend.
17-year-old Lamont Franklin is being charged with five felonies and five misdemeanors, including recklessly endangering safety, hit and run, grand theft and fleeing an officer.
Police say Franklin was caught attempting to break into a home in the town of Red Springs when he was spotted by a neighbor and stole a truck to escape. When police located him, he stole another vehicle in an attempt to escape. He led police on a high speed chase through Gresham, crashing into several squad cars in the process. No one was injured.
Franklin is being held on $25,000 cash bond. He'll be back for his initial appearance November 24th.
