WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) - The man accused of holding a gun to someone’s head at a Wisconsin Rapids trailer park May 9th was in court Monday. 81-year-old Robert Hass faces charges of 1st degree reckless endangerment of safety, disorderly conduct, and operating a firearm while intoxicated.
A negotiation team talked Hass into coming out of the trailer at Maples Mobile Home Park on South 8th Street and surrendering his weapon. A standoff had been underway for well over an hour when he gave up.
Investigators say Hass had a disagreement with the victim over money.
Hass plead not guilty to the two misdemeanor charges. He will be back in court June 3rd to enter a plea to the felony charge of recklessly endangering safety. That is also his preliminary hearing date. Hass remains free on a 500 dollar signature bond.
