UNDATED (WSAU) - A Wisconsin based restaurant chain is putting part of Tuesday’s proceeds towards the Honor Flight program. 162 Culver’s locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan are putting 10% of their Tuesday sales towards the fund that helps veterans fly to Washington D.C to see their war memorials.
Founder Craig Culver says, “We’re happy for the opportunity to support the Honor Flight network and we hope our guests will too” adding, “Men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom are true heroes.”
The Never Forgotten Honor Flight central Wisconsin hub has transported 931 Veterans in 10 flights from 2010-2012. Four flights are scheduled in 2013. The cost of one Never Forgotten Honor Flight is about $80,000 per trip, but is free to the Veteran.
Since 2004, Honor Flight has honored more than 100,000 veterans nationwide to thank them for their service to our country.
