Altoona is a community adjacent to Eau Claire’s east boundary. Police there found a deceased person in the home. Police haven’t released the identity of the person found, but have said the death is “suspicious” and they believe Xiong is connected to the death.

Ziong fled the area. Marathon County Lieutenant Fred Goch says the suspect first went to a home in Marathon City, and then left that residence. That’s when the suspect’s family made a phone call...NWS 7842 :15 sec. “...officers found him.”

Xiong’s vehicle was spotted Wednesday on Old Highway 51 in Mosinee about an hour after receiving the call from his family.

Goch confirms that Xiong has been returned to the Eau Claire County jail, where he awaits a Friday initial appearance in court.

Eau Claire County District Attorney Gary King told WSAU that he is “reviewing the case” and “has not made a decision on charges yet.”
