STRATFORD, WI (WSAU) - On Monday, he was one year old. Thursday, Treyden Kurtzweil left us with memories. The baby from Stratford lost his battle with a rare form of leukemia Thursday.
Parents Travis and Cassie Kurzweil announced their loss at the Saving Treyden Facebook site, which has been like a journal for Treyden and the many medical visits, community activities, and special events in his short life. Thursday’s entry says, “Treyden received his wings today, he was surrounded by nothing but love.”
Last Friday, doctors at St. Judes Childrens’ Hospital said there was nothing else they could do. Monday, crowds gathered below Treyden’s window at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Marshfield for a candlelight vigil on his first birthday.
June 13th entry in Saving Treyden Facebook page:
“Today is one of the first times that I don't have any words to say.. Treyden received his wings today, he was surrounded by nothing but love. Travis and I held him close and said our goodbyes. We will always be with you Treyden as you will be with us. Love you always and forever for infinity xoxo
Thank you all for your prayers and support for our entire family Love alwaysCassie, Travis and Treyden”
