WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) -- The Boys and Girls Club in Wisconsin Rapids is moving and growing. The Board of Directors voted Wednesday to enter into a five year lease with the Wisconsin Rapids Public School District for the former Pitsch Elementary School property. The club would move from their present Baker Drive location about ten blocks south to the school grounds.
The club plans to expand their program offerings with the additional space. They will be seeking volunteers to help move to Pitsch Elementary School this fall. The Boys and Girls Club will continue to operate Club locations in South Wood County at Mead Elementary in Wisconsin Rapids, Port Edwards Elementary and in Nekoosa at Alexander Middle School.
The Boys & Girls Club will manage the facility and grounds and provide annual maintenance and facility care. Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools will maintain ownership, and be able to use the facility for training and outreach programs during the day when club activities are not underway.
