
MARSHFIELD, Wis (WSAU) Marshfield police shot and killed a pit bull last night. The officers say the animal growled and then charged at them.
Police say they were called to the neighborhood on East Kalsched Street around 8pm because of a complaint about a loose dog. Officers were discussing how to capture the animal when it started running towards them.
The name of the officer who fired the shot has not been released. The dog's owner may be cited for not having the animal on a leash.
