VESPER, Wisc (WSAU) A 21-year-old man is being charged with child abuse for allegedly biting a 4-year-old child on the face.
The incident happened last November. The child's babysitter asked about the bite mark. The suspect, Anthony Hansen of Vesper, initially claimed the family dog did it. But later the child said Vesper did it, and the babysitter filed a child abuse report. The child said it happened because he wasn't potty-trained.
When interviewed by police, Hansen initially claimed the child was hurt in a fall. He's been charged with one count of child abuse. Hansen entered a 'not guilty' plea and is now free on $5,000 signature bond. He'll be back in court for a preliminary hearing on April 26th. If convicted at trial, he could get 3-years in prison.
