WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) -- Wausau police are looking for a man involved in a Monday morning hit and run near Franklin Elementary.

Lt. Nathan Pekarske says the incident happened around 6:20 Monday morning when a man driving a cream colored Crown Victoria ran into a woman and then fled the scene. The woman was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital for treatment.

Pekarske says the man and woman are known to each other and the incident may have been started after an argument or disagreement between the two parties.  "The two parties involved do know each other as potentially some kind of relationship argument or something of that nature. It appears to be isolated between just involving only those two people."

They are now looking for the man, but are asking the public for help finding the Crown Victoria.  "We are looking for that cream colored Ford Crown Victoria without license plates.  If someone would happen to see that driving around their neighborhood, you can definitely call the non-emergency number of the Wausau police department and make a report of where you did observe that vehicle."Pekarske says, "The male party driving the vehicle ended up fleeing the scene and our officers are following up on leads and information to locate that individual at the present time."

If you have any information, you can call the Wausau PD non-emergency number at 715-261-7800.
